After a shoot for the Oriental Museum (Durham University), a selection of my photos are now being used for an ad campaign around Durham City, focussing on adverts in shop windows (shown) and also bus shelters and the back of arriva buses. I’m pretty pleased with the results, and I encourage people of the North East to visit this stunning gallery, which includes treasures of the Orient and ancient Egypt.
I would like to thank Helen Thornber for helping secure this particular gig.

Second. Blog. Ever.
With all the excitement of the first blog out of the way, it’s time for blog #2, born out of the fire of creativity, and a good cup of tea. No biscuit though. Sad.
Some thoughts about photography.
Cavemen, bless them, drew little pictures on the wall to record their lives. Imagine having to run around attacking wooly mammoths to eat. Talk about stress in the workplace!
These days, tech savvy individuals may post to facebook or twitpic. If you gave a caveman an iPhone, (and an education) I imagine they’d be pretty pleased.
In the same way, day in, day out people take pictures, upload them to facebook or twitter, whether it’s a weird person at the train station, a meal in a restaurant, or someone being foolish.
These are the kind of things that make great pictures; that human quality. People in their natural environment.
Just like a caveman.

I’ve actually written this just after midnight, on an iPod touch.
After some very positive comments that I have recieved regarding my photographic work, I decided to bite the bullet and make some go of a proper website.
Thing is, since I was tinkering on with websites back in 2004, many things have changed, and good old Uncle HTML doesn’t seem to cut the mustard anymore, so obviously had to consult someone in the know, in this case James Inman (Twitter: @_elj Company: Anoveta). This young(er than I am) #whippersnapper is rather impressive, and can juggle a degree, a business and many other things with skill and dexterity like a modern renaissance man.
If Leonardo da Vinci needed a website, James would be the chap. Because if Leonardo coded, he’d write backwards and it would be a bit of a #fail.
Anyway, so Uncle HTML is out, sparkly new website is in.
At the time of writing, it’s all a bit in development, but that will change as time goes on.
Finally, if you have been, thanks for reading!
